Basic Purpose of Position:
Perform secretarial duties for the Director, Transit Services, and general office functions as required for departmental personnel.
Schedules appointments, gives information to callers, and otherwise relieves officials of clerical work and minor administrative and business details.

Major Responsibilities and Duties DESCRIPTION OF TASK 1.
Prepares, proofreads, types, and edits correspondence, reports, forms, schedules, notices, and distributes.
2.
Complete weekly Departmental Time Administrator duties, including timesheet entry, proofreading, and reports.
3.
Prepares documents for approval, including materials ordered and expense accounts.
4.
Monitors, maintains, and orders inventories of office supplies, letterhead, forms, and materials necessary for the operation of the department.
Arranges for equipment maintenance.
5.
Prepares outgoing mail and correspondence, including e-mail and faxes.
6.
Coordinates and arranges meetings and conferences, reserves, and prepares facilities and records.
7.
Receive incoming/outgoing telephone calls with politeness and discretion.
Acts with discretion in supplying requested information to parties within and outside the enterprise in accordance with established policy.
8.
Opens and distributes mail and paychecks to department employees.
9.
Makes photocopies of correspondence or other printed materials.
10.
Greets scheduled visitors and refers to the appropriate area or person.
11.
Assists in maintaining a safe and secure work environment by participating in required training, recognizing and reporting hazards and suspicious activity, and using all required personal protective equipment.
12.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None EDUCATION/TRAINING Required:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
One (1) year of administrative/office experience.
Experience and proficiency in relevant personal computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
